Second Pride

This past Sunday, I motioned for the DannielScarlet Destiny to relinquish his role as Membership Representative in order to step into the role of Secretary/Co-chair on the Committee. The motion passed unanimously. Danniel has served with distinction in this role on past Committees.

Interested candidates for the Membership Representative position for the remainder of the 2010 Second Pride Festival Season should contact me via note card in world or via email–kansar@secondpride.com– no later than midnight SLT on Saturday, March 6.

Interested candidates should be prepared to speak at the meeting on Sunday, March 7 at 11AM and to field questions from the Committee as well as members in attendance.

This is an important role on the Committee and the membership's primary advocate and liaison. Candidates should be prepared to work alongside existing Committee members in preparing for the upcoming Festival.

The current Charter of Second Pride lists the duties and responsibilities of the Membership Representative as follows:

• To liaise with all sub groups of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community;
• To encourage support of the Second Pride Committee and the membership of the Second Pride Group;
• To be spokes person of all groups and subgroups of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender groups in Second Life;
• To seek within these groups potential collaborators, partners, vendors and sponsors for the Second Pride Festival;
• To be the official liaison between the general members, vendors, sponsors and the Second Pride Committee;
• To keep the Second Pride general group in Second Life updated and assign the appropriate roles to the members of the group;
• To create or distribute existing application forms for the various membership possibilities of the group, and manage the information received in return by appropriate processing.
• To represent and defend the interest of the all Second Pride members in front of the Second Pride Committee.
• To administer the registration of voters within the general group.
• To report to the Second Pride membership, the Second Pride Committee and to the Second Pride Presiding Chair.
